However the mood takes you and how you want to arrange your day, you can book leisurely half-day, day and adventure-packed hikes and even full day expeditions.

In this family-friendly hiking region more than 20 hiking routes specifically designed for families, in all difficulty levels, await. Surrounded by lovely natural surroundings, lush Alpine pastures and crystal-clear mountain lakes, you get to explore this breath-taking sports region in Salzburger Land in leisurely fashion.

Salzburger Land is renowned for being the region with the highest density of Alpine pastures in Austria. Routes for families, young people and older people are available in plenty of different variants and difficulty levels and are very well designed. Enjoy a pleasure-packed hike or head out on a via ferrata route, tackle more challenging ascents or relax and explore the Alpine inns with all the family; everyone will find their own idea of pleasure on the mountains on Salzburger Almenweg. The Salzburger Almenweg has 31 stages for beginners, those who have experience real mountain buffs. Tours 18 and 19 proceed through Wagrain-Kleinarl.

A hiking adventure in Salzburger Land ‘made easy’. Upon presentation of your guest card (Salzburger Sportwelt Card) and for a contribution to cover additional costs of € 1.00 per person and route, the Wanderbus takes you from town to town. Explore the following regions on the way: Wagrain, Kleinarl Altenmarkt, Zauchensee, Eben im Pongau, Filzmoos, Flachau, Radstadt, St. Johann im Pongau, Großarltal and Obertauern.

The Wanderbus operates from 1st May until 31st October.

In the Wagrain-Kleinarl region in Salzburger Land more than 20 Alpine inns and lodges welcome you to enjoy delicious and invigorating refreshments. Home-made dishes from the region await, including bacon, cheese, cake, a glass of fresh milk or just a beer. You will definitely find a treat to suit you.
