Fantastic weather conditions, perfect thermals, and breathtaking views—our tandem flight with FLYTandem was an experience we’ll never forget.
It had long been a big dream of ours to see the impressive mountain scenery of the SalzburgerLand from the air. After doing some research, we quickly decided: a tandem paragliding flight in the SalzburgerLand was the way to go.
In June, the time had finally come. Under bright sunshine and perfect flying conditions, we set off by car from Wagrain to Werfenweng. The trip was completely hassle-free, and we even arrived ten minutes before our appointment.
Our tandem pilots, Joy and Matthias, were already waiting for us and gave us a warm welcome. Right from the start, we felt completely in good hands.
We then took a leisurely ride up to the launch site on the gondola. There, we received a brief, easy-to-understand briefing that covered all the important details. Our nervousness quickly faded, and our excitement grew with every meter.
The Moment of Takeoff
Then came the big moment: a few quick steps, and suddenly we were gliding silently over the impressive mountain landscape of the Alps.
It was particularly noteworthy that Charly had been a bit worried before the flight, as he suffers from a mild fear of heights. But just a few minutes after takeoff, it was clear: his fear was completely unfounded. The sensation of gliding is incredibly gentle and conveys a sense of freedom rather than unease.
The view of the majestic peaks, green alpine meadows, and the Salzburg region was simply spectacular. Thanks to the perfect thermals, we were able to enjoy the region’s beauty for an especially long time.
Requirements for a tandem flight
Physical Condition
Normal physical fitness is required for a safe takeoff. However, no prior athletic experience is necessary.
Age
There are virtually no age limits for tandem paragliding. Guests between the ages of 6 and 99 can enjoy this unique experience.
Proper Clothing
We recommend:
- Sports shoes with non-slip soles
- Clothing appropriate for the weather
- Warm clothing at higher altitudes
- In fall and winter, gloves are also recommended
